Here at Penrhys Primary School we are excited to develop a curriculum that encourages and enables pupils to:

Understand that languages connect us with people, places and communities, recognising own linguistic identity and the similarities and differences between languages. 

Understand that language is the key to understanding the world  around us, developing the fundamental skills of communication, empathy and ability to respond. 

Understand that expressing ourselves through language is key to communication  by interacting, exploring ideas, expressing viewpoints for different viewpoints and audiences. 

Understand that literature fires imagination and inspires creativity knowing that literature gives an insight into the culture, people and history of the wider world, sparking creativity and a lifelong love of literature.
